Exchange-traded fund provider Invesco PowerShares has appointed Gilles Boitel as business development director – Switzerland.

Boitel will be responsible for driving business development in Switzerland, a key expansion market for Invesco PowerShares.

Previously he was responsible for institutional clients in Switzerland and Liechtenstein at Source. He has also held roles at Accenture, as a financial services research specialist in Buenos Aires, and was responsible for ETF distribution to private banks, wealth managers and family offices in Switzerland for iShares.

Bryon Lake, head of Invesco PowerShares – EMEA, says: “Gilles’s appointment reinforces our strategy to develop our presence in countries such as Switzerland where there is a clear demand for Smart Beta ETFs.  His expertise and specialist knowledge of the Swiss market is a great asset to our team and as the ETF industry continues to expand in Europe, we have been focusing on developing our team to best support our growth in these core regions.”
