The Enterprise Investment Scheme Association (EISA) is to launch the new EIS Tolley Diploma at an event in London on 18 September.
The Diploma, a self-study course on the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS), has been structured and delivered by EISA and Tolleys to provide a new gold standard qualification for advice on the benefits of EIS.
The event will take place at Skyloft in Altitude 360 in London bringing together investors, wealth managers and the IFA community for a reception.
The Diploma, which is aimed at financial advisers of all levels – including independent financial advisers (IFAs) and wealth managers – seeks to provide advisers with a thorough understanding of the investor benefits of EIS, the mechanics of investing and the tax allowances available.
The event is being sponsored by Calculus Capital, Oxford Capital, Octopus Investments, Gabelle LLP, Thompson Taraz and Kuber Ventures.
John Glencross, CEO of Calculus Capital, says: “The EISA is continually striving to improve the understanding and awareness of Enterprise Investment Schemes, a feat much appreciated by Calculus Capital and the industry as a whole. We are pleased to back them in their latest endeavour and wholeheartedly support their dedication to providing further education to the EIS community.”
John Thorpe, business line manager for EIS at Octopus Investments, says: “EIS is not just a powerful planning tool for financial advisers and their clients, but has also proved to be highly effective at attracting funding for UK smaller companies. We welcome the EISA’s development of an initiative which will not only help more advisers understand the benefits of EIS investments and how clients can use them for different planning requirements, but will also help to raise awareness of EIS and ultimately attract further investment into key growth areas of the economy. The Diploma is a fantastic scheme and we are very proud to support the launch of it here today.”
