ACE Group has made two executive appointments in its high net worth personal lines insurance business, ACE Private Risk Services, naming Clyde Douglas as senior vice president, claims and Eileen Castolene as vice president of operations.

Based in Salem, Virginia, Douglas will be responsible for overseeing the claims operations related to ACE Private Risk Services’ specialised home, auto, recreational marine, valuable collections, and umbrella liability insurance, which are sold through a national network of independent agents and brokers.

He will report jointly to Mary Boyd, division president, ACE Private Risk Services, and Frank Lattal, senior vice president, chief claims officer, ACE Group.

Boyd says: “We are pleased to bring Clyde on board in this critical role for ACE Private Risk Services. He has a strong track record of accomplishments in leading large claims organisations and responding to the needs of high net worth clients when they need our help most. We are fully confident he will build on the strong reputation for claims service excellence that we already have.”

Douglas joins ACE from a national personal insurance carrier, where he served as the chief claims officer. With nearly 20 years of insurance claims experience, Douglas has held a variety of leadership positions in the US and Canada while working at four insurance companies.

Castolene will be responsible for leading ACE Private Risk Services’ nationwide agency and billing services centre, billing department, and ACE’s NewMarkets Insurance Agency. She will report directly to Boyd.

Castolene joins ACE from a national carrier, where she spent the last nine years in a number of senior operational leadership roles, including vice president and general manager for a personal lines operations centre and as regional director for the company’s Western and Southwestern regions in middle market and specialty programmes.

“Eileen brings extensive operational knowledge, leadership skills, and experience to her new role at ACE Private Risk Services,” says Boyd. “We are delighted to have someone with such an impressive track record in managing successful operations centres join our team. Together, Eileen and Clyde represent the latest of a series of changes we have made over the past six months to further strengthen our organisational depth and breadth to better service our agents and clients. As we approach the fourth quarter of 2014, we believe we have the strongest group of proven professionals in our history.”
