Investec Asset Management has expanded its global emerging markets fixed income team with the appointment of Mike Hugman to the role of strategist.
Hugman’s focus will be on the further development of research within the team to best serve the evolving requirements of Investec’s growing global client base, including international policy makers.
Hugman joins from his role as economist at hedge fund Amiya Capital, and was previously economist and strategist in Lagos and London for Standard Bank.
He was selected by the Overseas Development Institute for a placement in the Nigerian Ministry of Finance where he authored the 2008-2010 Federal Government Fiscal Strategy and the 2008 fiscal policy framework.
