Simon Brazier will be appointed portfolio manager of the Investec UK Alpha Fund in November 2014, subject to Financial Conduct Authority approval.
Brazier will become lead manager of the Investec UK Alpha Fund and the offshore Investec GSF UK Equity Fund with Blake Hutchins as alternate manager.
The Investec UK Alpha Fund and the offshore Investec GSF UK Equity Fund will be run identically to Brazier’s Threadneedle UK Fund. These core funds will be broadly diversified by market cap and sector and aim to deliver strong and consistent risk adjusted returns by focusing on a portfolio of high quality, attractively valued stocks.
Brazier will form part of Investec’s extensive team of investment professionals who will continue to provide a significant research platform of idea generation for the fund. This includes the 14-strong Quality investment team and the established 4Factor Global Equity team.
David Aird, managing director, UK client group, says: “We are delighted to be re-launching the Investec UK Alpha Fund and its offshore sister fund, the Investec GSF UK Equity Fund, under Simon Brazier’s management. The market is crying out for a competitive ‘Core’ UK equity fund and Simon joins us with an outstanding performance track record and loyal investor basis.”
