LSE welcomes WisdomTree smart beta ETFs

RELATED TOPICS

London Stock Exchange (LSE) has welcomed exchange-traded fund provider WisdomTree to open trading on its markets with the listing of its new range of fundamentally weighted ETFs.

The four smart beta products are the first WisdomTree has launched in Europe. They provide exposure to large and small-cap US and European equities.

Lida Eslami, exchange traded product specialist, London Stock Exchange, says: “It’s exciting to welcome WisdomTree to the market this morning. Not just as one of the largest ETF providers globally but also as one of the pioneers of fundamentally weighted ETFs, a relatively new but increasingly popular product. London Stock Exchange is the leading ETF trading venue in Europe and working with market participants, we hope to continue to build on this position by encouraging new issuers and products to market.”

WisdomTree is the fifth largest ETF issuer in the US with USD36 billion asset under management. The company entered the European ETF market earlier this year, through a majority stake in Boost, which already counts 46 exchange traded products on London Stock Exchange.
