Cambridge names their new First Vice Presidents


Cambridge Investment Research has appointed Barry Schmidt as First
Vice President, Practice Management and Client Solutions and Colleen
Bell as First Vice President, Retirement and Wealth Strategies.

Schmidt joined Cambridge in 2010 with over 30 years of experience thatincludes sales, marketing, and relationship management. He has beeninstrumental in the leadership and growth of Cambridge’s PracticeManagement and Business and Technology Consulting Teams. Heleads a dedicated team of consultants focused on providing valuableresources to independent advisors, assisting them in efficiently growingtheir independent businesses.

Schmidt’s new role expands to include leadership and oversight of
Cambridge’s Client Solutions Team. Client Solutions specialises in
retirement, insurance, investments, and fee-based products, services,
platforms, and strategies. He will lead a team of highly qualified
specialists who provide one-on-one support to Cambridge advisors in
key planning areas and assist with complex client situations.

Bell joined Cambridge in 2006 and has been instrumental in leading
Cambridge’s Retirement Center initiatives. The Retirement Center
provides advisors with the information and resources needed to
confidently service the retirement marketplace and observe increasing
regulation. It delivers leading resources and expertise, integrated
retirement systems, and retirement market solutions. Recently, Bell’s
role expanded to include leadership of Cambridge’s Wealth Strategies
Team. The Wealth Strategies Team provides advanced planning tools,
industry insights, and marketing resources to advisors while helping
them find solutions to the most advanced planning questions.

Bell has been named First Vice President, Retirement and Wealth
Strategies and will continue to lead the Retirement Center and Wealth
Strategies Teams. These teams will focus on expanding the products
and services offered to rep-advisors dedicated to these markets
including a Retirement Center technology portal and Retirement Plan
Strategies. Additionally, Bell will serve as a member on Cambridge’s
Senior Council along with Schmidt and 13 other senior executives at
