Build Backer provides property investors with new crowdfunding platform

RELATED TOPICS

Individual property investors can now access better investment opportunities thanks to a new crowdfunding investment platform.

The newly-launched Build Backer platform (www.buildbacker.com) provides the investing power of the crowd, which means that qualifying individual investors can access better investments than they could by just investing on their own.

On Build Backer there will be a diverse range of property development projects. Each one offers different returns, terms, timeframes and levels of security. Investing on Build Backer means that investors can enjoy the same high returns and asset security given by traditional property investing but without the high capital outlay, professional fees and time. Investors can invest from as little as GBP500 per project and invest in as many projects as they like.

All funds invested through Build Backer are held by a regulated custodian for peace of mind. Build Backer does not charge investors any fees or commissions for investing. However, there is a small charge by the custodians for the use of a custodial account.

Investors only initially reserve the amount they'd like to invest in a campaign, so they only have to transfer the money when the fundraising campaign has been successfully closed. This gives them the confidence that other investors also believe in the project that they have chosen to invest in.

Build Backer founder Tom Ladds (pictured) says: "We have taken a traditional method of investing and brought it right up to date with the crowdfunding platform. In the past an investor would have had to invest a very large amount of capital as well as engaging in long negotiations and legal work to gain access to good investment opportunities in property development.

"Now, investors can invest just GBP500, or more if they want, and there's no negotiation or legal work needed! The Build Backer platform offers everything the investors need to search and filter potential investments, complete due diligence, make their investment and manage their investment portfolio."

Build Backer is a property crowdfunding website for tangible property development projects, which makes it different from other crowdfunding opportunities.

The crowdfunding industry is one of the UK's fastest growing sectors. The industry value is expected to reach GBP1.6 billion this year and debt-based platforms account for 85 per cent of the market of which Build Backer is a unique part. Investors can choose a project to invest in and be a part of it right from the start.

The platform and the opportunities it offers to investors are open to high net worth individuals and sophisticated and experienced investors. Users of the platform have to confirm this before they can access the website and view campaigns.

Ladds adds: "Once on the site potential investors will be able to register their details to receive a free guide to property development crowdfunding. To celebrate the forthcoming launch of Build Backer, ‘early birds' who register on the platform now will also be the first to know when Build Backer is fully live, giving them access to an exclusive campaign offering a higher than average return and first charge security.

"In addition, fundraisers will get first mover advantage and can begin fundraising straight away while affiliates can begin introducing developers to the platform and begin generating their own revenue immediately, even while we're still in the pre-launch stage."
