US ETF/ETP assets break through USD2trn mark, says ETFGI

Assets invested in ETFs/ETPs listed in the United States have broken through the 2 trillion dollar milestone, according to new research by ETFGI.

2014 has been a very good year for the ETF/ETP industry in the United States.

Up to 22 December, assets have increased 18% this year from USD1.698 trillion to USD2.007 trillion based on positive market performance and net new assets.

Year to date, the US listed ETF/ETP industry has gathered a record setting USD232 billion in net new assets beating the prior full year record of USD190 billion in 2013.
