Threadstone Advisors grows advisory team

Threadstone Advisors is expanding its senior advisory team with several key appointments, including the addition of Ilya Seglin as a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division.

Reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer Billy Susman, Seglin will become an instrumental senior member of Threadstone’s advisory team, servicing both private and public companies, as well as private equity firms, with hands-on advisory services consistent with the exemplary focus the firms clients have come to expect.

“As our impact in the beauty and personal care sectors increase, our own bandwidth has to grow – which means the addition of senior team members who can actively drive the strategic dialogue required for market leadership,” says Billy Susman. “With 10 years of sector experience and the understanding of the needs of clients, Ilya will have an immediate influence in helping clients achieve their financial and capital markets goals. As a founder of his own consulting practice, Ilya brings a similar entrepreneurial spirit to that which has driven our success over the last three years.”

Seglin brings a unique background in investment banking and equity research to Threadstone, specializing specifically in the retail and consumer products sectors. Most recently, Seglin operated a business consulting practice servicing beauty, apparel and accessories companies. Prior to that, he was a Director in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse in the retail and consumer products group, working with companies to develop and execute M&A strategy, raise equity and debt financing, and address capital structure issues. He has executed transactions for multi-national corporations, middle-market retail and consumer products companies as well as private equity-owned businesses. Seglin developed in-depth consumer industry knowledge during equity research experience earlier in his career, including working on No1 ranked All-America Research team at Bear Stearns and covering the luxury goods sector.

As part of Threadstone’s growth and focus on exceptional deal execution, the company also announced the promotion of Joshua Goldberg to Vice President and Stephen Ippolito to Vice President, where they will lead deal execution for an increasing number of transactions handled by Threadstone. “Hands-on deal execution remains the key backbone to our client management efforts,” says Billy Susman.

Goldberg has been a member of the Threadstone team since its founding in 2011, with a previous post as a research analyst covering hedge fund strategies. Ippolito joined Threadstone in 2013 as an investment banker at a middle-market financial advisory firm focused on the consumer and retail sectors.
