Canter Companies launches strategic wealth management division

Canter Companies has launched a new division, Canter Strategic Wealth Management, adding to the firm’s existing three divisions – Canter Development, Canter Brokerage and Canter Capital.

This new division called Canter Wealth provides a unique value proposition that combines wealth management services with real estate in one location. The office is located in the La Jolla community of Bird Rock. Canter Wealth will be led by Managing Director Eric McMullen, a 20-year veteran in the financial services industry.

Canter Wealth bridges the gap between real estate services and investment opportunities and can provide access to adaptive and focused investment tools to help clients achieve their long-term financial goals.

"We are able to provide an institutional level of financial services with this new division," says Andrew Canter, president and CEO of Canter Companies. "It was developed to supplement our existing offerings in real estate and investment. And, with the addition of Eric McMullen, a seasoned financial services veteran, it means Canter Wealth can provide a consistent level of financial service throughout the lifecycle of our relationships with clients."

"Canter Wealth will manage exchange traded funds (ETF) strategies and we also have a strong approach to RIA acquisitions," says McMullen. "We have a team of ETF active strategists who follow macroeconomic and ETF product trends and each new advisor we bring on is empowered to focus on their core competencies. By doing this they are able to meet and hopefully surpass client expectations while growing their business."

Canter Companies worked with the local division of Gensler, a global architecture firm, to design the office space using the surrounding community of Bird Rock as the inspiration. It features an open concept with reclaimed wood, indoor and outdoor seating and custom artwork by local artist Aaron Chang to instill a welcoming, communal atmosphere. The Bird Rock location, at 5623 La Jolla Boulevard in La Jolla, also serves as a meeting place and host to reoccurring community events that include barbecues, beer tastings and open houses. The first Bird Rock open house of 2015 will be held this Friday, January 16 starting at 1 p.m. and will include complimentary food and beverages for all guests.
