Jean-Louis Scandella assumes leadership of Barings Global Emerging Markets portfolios

In addition to his role as Head of Equities at Baring Asset Management, Jean-Louis Scandella has become co-manager on a number of mandates including Barings’ flagship Global Emerging Markets Fund, with William Palmer and Isabelle Irish.
 
Scandal joined Barings in May 2014 from the highly regarded French equity boutique Comgest, bringing with him a deep knowledge of emerging equity investing, with experiences both as a business leader and as a portfolio manager. He has a complementary investment strategy to Barings as well as a successful 19 year track record in emerging market equities.
 
Ken Lambden, Chief Investment Officer at Baring Asset Management, says: “Jean-Louis has extensive experience of emerging market equities, and has been working closely and actively with Barings’ emerging market teams since joining the firm.  He has a strong, bottom up driven investment philosophy and a successful track record of outperformance achieved through a disciplined approach.
