PowerShares Canada to terminate two ETFs


PowerShares Canada is to terminatePowerShares S&P/TSX Composite High Beta Index ETF (THB) and PowerShares S&P 500 High Beta (CAD Hedged) Index ETF (UHB) on or about 6 April, 2015.

Effective close of business March 20, 2015, no further direct subscriptions for units of the ETFs will be accepted by PowerShares Canada. Requests for exchanges of units of the ETFs for securities can be placed with PowerShares Canada by eligible investors until 30 March, 2015. Requests for redemptions of units of the ETFs for cash can be placed by eligible investors until the date of termination.

The ETFs will continue to be listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) until the close of business on or about 31 March, 2015, when they are expected to be delisted from the TSX, at the request of PowerShares Canada.

Shortly after termination of the ETFs, PowerShares Canada will distribute the proceeds of the liquidation of each ETF, less all liabilities and expenses incurred in connection with the termination, if applicable, to the ETFs' unitholders.
