Euromoney Indices (EI) has been appointed as calculation agent for a new sub index, the HSBC Economic Scale Index World ex Canada & USA.

The sub index is part of the HSBC Economic Scale Indices and its master index – the HSBC ESI Worldwide –  is replicated by the HSBC ESI Worldwide Equity UCITS ETF. The new sub index is denominated in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and US Dollars (USD).

The sub index has over 960 constituents, providing broad exposure to a universe of equities with a proprietary liquidity filter. Contrary to traditional market capitalisation indices, the sub Index weights companies according to the contribution that they make to the global economy.

Listed on the London Stock Exchange and domiciled in Dublin, the HSBC Worldwide Equity UCITS ETF fund currently has over USD960 million of assets under management.

Sui Chung, Managing Director of Euromoney Indices, says: “We have extended the relationship that we have with HSBC Global Asset Management and continue to work closely with them to develop tailored solutions to suit their requirements and those of their investors. The new sub index and currency denomintations illustrate the flexibility and customisation that we are able to provide to ensure that our clients’ product offerings fully reflect the needs of their end investors.”
