Investors in Israel to convene at inaugural summit at LSE

UK Israel Business has partnered with London Stock Exchange to organise a major London summit for new and existing investors in Israeli companies.

This is the first event of its kind, aimed at UK institutional investors, funds and family offices.

The event comes at a time when more Israeli companies are listing internationally than ever before and many are choosing to list in London. In 2014, more Israeli companies listed on London Stock Exchange than from any other country, excluding the UK.  In line with wider capital markets trends, last year saw more international Israeli listings than ever before, with 19 companies coming to market on London Stock Exchange or in New York.

The summit will take place on 23 February at London Stock Exchange. It serves as a forum for new and existing investors in Israeli companies to discuss investment opportunities and meet some of the most exciting Israeli companies looking to access London markets. Speaking at the summit will be the Chief Executives of five recent London listings: Plus500, CrossRider, Marimedia, Matomy and XLMedia.

Hugo Bieber, UK Israel Business Chief Executive, says: “Last year almost as many Israeli companies listed on the LSE as on NASDAQ.  This shows that the London markets are open to Israeli companies. I am delighted that speaking at the event are some of the most exciting Israeli business leaders from the recently London listed firms.  It should be no surprise that these vibrant businesses chose to list in London.  The size of our capital markets, the maturity of investors and the proximity to Israel all make London a natural home.”

“UK Israel Business has organised the summit to further inform the investor community as to the huge opportunities available in investing in high growth companies. By broadening investor appetite, the event hopes to attract more Israeli companies to consider a London listing.”

John Millar, Head of Primary Markets, London Stock Exchange Group, says: “Israel is at the forefront of creating dynamic, fast growing entrepreneurial businesses and London Stock Exchange has a long history of welcoming these companies to our markets. Allowing ambitious businesses access to a deep pool of international equity capital to support their global expansion plans is the cornerstone of our business. Last year we saw a host of Israeli companies float on our markets, further reinforcing London’s ability to attract and support businesses from across the world. The Israel Investor Summit is vital to showcasing the country’s growth stories, helping encourage more Israeli businesses to raise capital in London.”

The event, to be opened by Xavier Rolet, CEO of London Stock Exchange Group, will include a keynote speech from Professor Leo Leiderman, Chief Economist of Israel’s largest bank, Bank Hapoalim as well as panel events with the CEOs of five recently London listed Israeli companies. In addition, private Israeli companies including GetTaxi will participate on a panel focussing on the next generation of IPOs.

The Israel Investor Summit is sponsored by Deloitte, Epstein Rosenblum Maoz (ERM), Pinsent Masons, Shore Capital and StockWell Communications.  Event partners are London Stock Exchange and Bloomberg.
