Industry veteran Michael Jamison has joined Lebenthal Asset Management (LAM), the asset management division of Lebenthal Holdings, as a portfolio manager.

Jamison will focus on income-oriented equity strategies, including covered-call writing.

"I am pleased to welcome Michael Jamison to Lebenthal," says James B Lebenthal, president of LAM. "Not only does he bring with him years of experience as an equity portfolio manager, but his expertise complements our in-house capabilities very well, which will enable us to provide more investment options for our clients. He also has a strong management background and an entrepreneur's flair for building businesses. Our ability to attract high quality professionals like Michael is a testament to the strong brand legacy and the growth potential of Lebenthal, and our constant search for new ways to serve clients."

Before joining Lebenthal, Jamison was a managing director and member of the investment policy committee at Barrett Asset Management, where he ran the firm's enhanced equity income strategy. Prior to that, he founded Jamison Prince Asset Management, which ultimately merged into Beacon Trust Company. While at Jamison Prince, he managed the core investment strategy. Prior to that, Jamison was head of the private client business and sat on the executive committee at Brandywine Global Investment Management, and was founder and Chief Investment Officer for PaineWebber Asset Management, a private client asset management business of PaineWebber Incorporated. Jamison also held senior portfolio and management positions at EF Hutton & Co.

Jamison says: "I am excited to be joining Lebenthal, a time-honoured and prestigious firm that is being revitalised. The firm boasts a well-respected, veteran board of directors, and several of my former colleagues are here, including Frank Campanale, formerly of EF Hutton and CEO of Smith Barney Consulting Group, and now CEO of Lebenthal Wealth Advisors. There is an energy and vitality here that I experienced while building private client businesses at Brandywine Global and my own firm, Jamison Prince Asset Management. I look forward to contributing to the growth of my new firm."
