Lanware gains Cyber Essentials certification

RELATED TOPICS

Lanware, the rapidly growing cloud based outsourced technology service provider for investment management firms and financial institutions, has been awarded Cyber Essentials certification by CREST, the UK government approved accreditation body under the Cyber Essentials scheme.

The Cyber Essentials classification is a government-backed, industry supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common cyber-attacks.  Lanware is amongst the foremost cyber security firms to receive this new accreditation.

Cyber Essentials defines a set of controls which, when properly implemented, will provide organisations with protection from the most prevalent forms of Cyber threats. In particular, it focuses on threats which require low levels of attacker skill, and which are widely available online.

Ensuring cyber security is one of the hallmarks of Lanware’s service offer to its clients and this new certification adds to Lanware’s existing ISO 27001 security standard rating, widening the firm’s authority and capability in advising on and protecting clients against the growing threat of cyber-attack.

“As an outsourcing provider it is vital that Lanware can demonstrate total IT infrastructure and services security and meeting the rigorous standards of Cyber Essentials’ certification clearly shows our clients that we can do this.  The Cyber Essentials audit and external scan allow Lanware to be confident that the protective measures we have in place meet industry best practice,” says Carl White, Service Delivery Manager at Lanware.

“We understand that any company thinking about outsourcing to an IT services provider needs to be absolutely certain they can rely on high standards of data security by their chosen partner. The cyber threat is growing at an exponential rate. The Cyber Essentials certificate is another step in meeting this head on and ensuring our clients’ data is safe,” explains Henry Duncombe, Managing Director at Lanware.
