Matthews Asia hires head of US intermediary distribution


Matthews Asia has hired Derek Chow as Head of US Intermediary Distribution. Based in San Francisco, Chow will be responsible for leading the firm’s US intermediary business, including RIA, Family Office, Broker Dealer and Private Bank clients.

Chow, who will report to  Frank Wheeler, Global Head of Distribution and Marketing, previously spent three years as a Senior Vice President and Business Development Manager with Voya Investment Management (formerly ING Investment Management) where he was responsible for leading relationship management and national accounts with key broker/dealer partners. Prior to this, Chow was Head of US Retail Distribution for FAF Advisors/ First American Funds, where he led the firm's external and internal wholesaling efforts and national accounts. He has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry.

Wheeler says: “We are pleased to welcome Derek to Matthews Asia. Derek brings significant US intermediary sales management experience to our firm. I’m confident that he will provide great leadership in this role and make a significant contribution to our goal of bringing dedicated Asia investments to even more financial intermediaries.”
