Law firm Howard Kennedy’s VCT team has advised on 27 offers in 2014/15 with a combined market value of GBP370m, which have so far raised GBP300m. Just 33 VCTs in total came to market in the 2014/15 tax year.

Keith Lassman, Partner and Head of Capital Markets at Howard Kennedy, says: “For the past 17 years we have led the market advising VCTs.  This year we have advised on 27 of the 33 VCTs to come to market, representing over 80 per cent of the market.  Howard Kennedy is the go to law firm and sponsor for VCTs.”

Howard Kennedy is the only English law firm able to act as both sponsor and legal adviser to VCTs.  In the last three years the firm has advised 80 per cent of all VCTs launched into the market, and represents nine of the top 10 VCT managers by total VCT funds under management.

The firm has a dedicated team of partners and staff advising VCTs through its wholly owned FCA authorised subsidiary, Howard Kennedy Corporate Services LLP, which has been active in the market place since 1997, listing well over 150 companies over that period.
