BATS Global Markets (BATS) has appointed Laura Morrison as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Exchange-Traded Products, continuing its push in the ETF business.
Morrison is uniquely qualified to lead this opportunity for BATS, with 20 years of experience as an industry leader at the New York Stock Exchange. Over the past eight years, she served as NYSE’s Senior Vice President, Global Index and Exchange-Traded Products, leading the team which managed ETF listings and trading as well as the NYSE index business.
Bryan Harkins, Executive Vice President and Head of US Markets, says: “We’ve long held Laura in high esteem as a thought leader and we are excited she’s joining the team with the mission of making BATS the No1 global ETF listings marketplace. Her experience, knowledge and reputation as an ETF expert underscore our commitment to being the market leader in ETF listings and remaining No1 in ETF trading.”
During her tenure at NYSE, Morrison played a leading role in bringing new and innovative ETF products to market while launching key market quality programs and, as a senior executive, grew the company’s ETF issuer base to record numbers.
Previously at NYSE, Morrison held senior-level positions as Managing Director, NYSE Member Firm Sales, and Managing Director, NYSE Global Listings Group. She began her career at Barnett Bank in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and also spent two years as a specialist on the NYSE floor at CMJ Partners.
