RELATED TOPICS

WisdomTree, an exchange-traded fund (ETF) and exchange-traded product (ETP) sponsor, has appointed Nizam Hamid as Head of Sales for WisdomTree Europe.

Hamid’s vast ETF industry experience includes leadership roles at Deutsche Bank, BlackRock and Lyxor.  As Managing Director, in Portfolio and Index Strategy at Deutsche Bank, Hamid spent 10 years building their global ETF research strategy. After this role, Nizam was Managing Director, as Head of Sales Strategy for EMEA at Blackrock, where he was instrumental in a number of new product development initiatives. He then moved to Lyxor Asset Management. Whilst working at Lyxor, he was a Managing Director, as Head of ETF Strategy and Deputy Head of ETFs. Nizam managed the majority of ETF product development and structuring, and worked closely with external Delta One trading and sales desks across Europe.  Previous firms have also included the FTSE Group and C8 Investments. Nizam started his career as a Quantitative Analyst in the 1990s.

Hector McNeil, Co-CEO of WisdomTree Europe, says: “Hiring someone of Nizam’s experience is a major coup for WisdomTree Europe. He brings a wealth of senior experience from three of the largest European ETF providers. He will add significant depth to our management team.

"Nizam’s focus will be to grow and manage the dynamic sales team we have put in place in Europe and maximise our footprint across the five markets where we are listed in, and the many others where we are registered for sale. He will focus equally on the Boost short and leveraged ETP platform as well as the rapidly growing WisdomTree Europe UCITS dividend weighted smart beta ETF platform.”

WisdomTree Europe’s current list of equity UCITS ETFs stands at seven, and are listed on the London Stock Exchange, Borsa Italiana, Xetra, SIX Swiss Exchange, and the Irish Stock Exchange.
