WH Ireland has appointed Roland (Roly) Kitson as Head of Business Development for its Wealth Management division.
This is a new role created to accelerate the growth of the business, which is based in London with a network of nine regional offices around the United Kingdom. It manages total assets of over GBP2.7 billion.
Kitson is tasked to build a business development function to complement the division’s existing routes of asset growth. The new function will work closely with the existing divisional management to take advantage of growth opportunities, with a strong focus on targeting the intermediaries’ market where WH Ireland has previously had a limited presence.
Kitson has over 30 years’ experience in business development and management roles in private wealth and asset management. Most recently he has been involved in the design, construction and distribution of bespoke, specialist investment vehicles. Before that he was Head of UK Third Party Distribution at Barclays Wealth, having spent 14 years at Close Fund Management (a subsidiary of Close Asset Management) as Sales and Marketing Director. In his early career Kitson also worked at John Govett, MIM Britannia and Towry Law.
Richard Killingbeck, Chief Executive of WH Ireland Group, says: “Appointing Roly to drive forward new business development for our wealth management business is a major step forward in our strategy of accelerating the growth of our assets under management. Roly has an impressive track record, and I am delighted to welcome him to WH Ireland.”
