William Blair & Company, a global investment banking and asset management firm, has added three veteran financial advisors to the firm’s Boston office.

The team of Barbara J Cummings, Robert H Kjellman, and Carl J. (C.J.) Young, along with investment resource associate Karen M Eames, joins the firm’s growing Private Wealth Management Group from Boston Private Wealth LLC. The team, with decades of cumulative experience, will serve high-net-worth individuals and their families, business owners, foundations, and endowments by building customised portfolios designed according to each client’s unique needs and objectives.

“For decades, we have been proud to service business owners and institutional investors through research, investment banking, and institutional trading in the Boston and New England market,” says John R Ettelson, president and chief executive officer. “Expanding our private wealth business is a natural progression as we remain focused on world-class client service and execution.”

“Our firm’s heritage was built on a commitment to serving client needs first. We immediately recognised that this well-established team of Barb, Karen, Bob, and CJ shared these values, which is why we’re excited to have them join us,” says Ryan DeVore, William Blair’s head of Private Client Advisors. “Our financial advisors average more than 20 years of industry experience. We are committed to attracting and retaining the highest levels of talent to ensure our clients’ continued success.”

“William Blair is an excellent cultural fit for us. We see their investment in a leading-edge technology platform as a tremendous resource,” says Young on behalf of the team. “We have long admired the firm’s research, and fixed income and equity investment banking capabilities, and look forward to joining such a highly regarded firm.”
