Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (Deutsche AWM) has appointed Oti Roberts as a Managing Director and Senior Private Banker, along with Senior Investment Advisor, Freddy Menjivar, and Associate Banker, Scott Shuffield.

Based in Miami, Roberts and his team are responsible for serving ultra-high-net worth clients in the southeast region of the US. Roberts reports directly to Chip Packard, Co-Head of Wealth Management in the Americas.

“We are excited that Oti, Freddy and Scott have joined Deutsche AWM’s Private Bank, as we believe the team’s collective experience and deep-rooted relationships will immediately add value to our expanding Miami office,” says Chip Packard. “We are committed to broadening our reach and delivering our unique wealth management platform in the fastest growth market in the US.”

Before joining Deutsche AWM, Roberts was a Managing Director and Senior Private Banker for JP Morgan Private Bank, where he helped establish their first private banking office in Miami. At JP Morgan Private Bank, Roberts was consistently ranked as one of the top bankers in the US for revenue generation, client acquisition and net flows. He also served on JP Morgan’s 14-member Private Bank Advisory Council. Previously, Roberts spent five years with Bank of America in Miami. He holds a BBA in International Finance and Marketing from the University of Miami. Roberts sits on the Executive Council for the University of Miami Alumni Association, and is a Board Member for the I Have a Dream Foundation of Miami, Camillus House, and the United Way of Miami’s Alexis de Tocqueville Society.

Menjivar joined as a Director and Senior Investment Advisor. Prior to Deutsche AWM, he was an Executive Director at JP Morgan Private Bank, where he led the investment practice in South Florida, one of their fastest growing in the US. He began his career in their Palm Beach office in 2000. Menjivar holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Miami, where he graduated cum laude with honours.

Shuffield joined as an Associate Banker. Previously, he was an Analyst for JP Morgan Private Bank in Miami. Shuffield graduated summa cum laude and first in his class from the Robert H Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, with a BBA in Finance and International Business. He is a member of United Way's Young Leaders, Young Arts Influencer Circle, Institute of Contemporary Arts NEXT and was selected for Leadership Miami.

Over the past year, Deutsche AWM has expanded their private banking presence in several key markets including the West Coast, Texas, and Miami. Key hires have included Lee Hutter, who was appointed Head of the US Western region last September, and Mark Laroe, who was hired to start the Dallas Private Banking office. In addition, Deutsche AWM hired private banking teams in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles throughout 2014.
