Coherence Capital Partners, a fixed income focused alternative investment firm, and James Alpha Management, a diversified alternative asset management firm, have entered into a strategic partnership to exclusively distribute Coherence’s flagship Spectrum Fund.

The Spectrum Fund is a long/short alternative investment vehicle predominantly focused on North American and European corporate and sovereign debt exposures. James Alpha will be making a principal investment in the Spectrum Fund as well as focusing on distributing the Fund through its substantial investor network. James Alpha, well known for its ability to identify the top performing emerging managers in the alternative space, and Coherence Capital will also collaborate to create new private and liquid alternative products in the credit space. The Spectrum Fund has a 34 month track record with a cumulative return profile of 41.72 per cent on the Series B interests.

“We are pleased to enter into this alliance with James Alpha Management. The opportunity to work with their well-established network to reach alternative investors will be a key driver of our broader success. James Alpha’s deep experience in alternative asset management along with the opportunity to collaborate on creating new products in our core competency, liquid credit markets, will help Coherence continue to evolve and grow,” says Sal Naro, Coherence Capital’s CEO/CIO.

“We are very excited to partner with Coherence Capital whose principals have a long track record of success in long/short credit investing. We believe their strategy is especially well suited to an environment of volatile interest rates and the likelihood of rising rates. While most fixed-income strategies will suffer in that environment, we expect Coherence will thrive. As always, we have initiated our partnership with a substantial investment in the Spectrum Fund,” says Kevin Green, Managing Partner of James Alpha.

“Additionally, we are looking to integrate Coherence into our Multi-Strat Alternative Income Mutual Fund, JAIMX, and will explore other opportunities with Coherence within our expanding family of Liquid Alternative Mutual Funds,” says James Vitalie, Partner and President of James Alpha.
