WisdomTree Investments, the exchange-traded fund (ETF) and exchange-traded product (ETP) sponsor and asset manager, has appointed Kurt MacAlpine as Executive Vice President – Head of Global Distribution.

In its newly created role, MacAlpine will oversee WisdomTree’s ETP sales and distribution initiatives globally and join WisdomTree’s executive management team.  He joins WisdomTree from McKinsey & Company where he was a Partner and Leader of the North American Asset Management practice.

As a Partner at McKinsey & Company, MacAlpine managed global consulting teams in the asset management and wealth management industries on topics related to distribution, marketing, product development, international expansion, strategy and M&A. He has extensive experience working with domestic and foreign firms in North America, Asia and Europe.  MacAlpine was also a member of McKinsey’s Global Asset and Wealth Management Operating Committee.

“Kurt brings a wealth of industry knowledge from his experience as a Partner at McKinsey serving leading global Asset and Wealth Management companies, where he gained insights into enduring best practices and emerging trends in fund distribution platforms across a diverse global client base.  I look forward to Kurt’s contributions as part of our ongoing effort to expand and deepen our relationships in new and existing sales channels, leverage data and technology to better serve our clients and drive continued growth in the U.S. while expanding our distribution initiatives in international markets,” says WisdomTree CEO and President Jonathan Steinberg. “Combined with the recent appointments of Alisa Maute as Head of U.S. Sales and Nizam Hamid as Head of Sales for WisdomTree Europe and the veteran channel leaders supporting them, WisdomTree has the ETF sales talent and experience to capitalize on the tremendous opportunities ahead.”

MacAlpine says, “WisdomTree is recognized as an innovator and leader in the US ETF market, with strong product capabilities and a great culture. As clients increasingly diversify and globalise their portfolios and opt for the ETF structure, WisdomTree is well positioned for continued growth from existing markets and through new market development. I am very pleased to join WisdomTree at an exciting time of domestic and international expansion.”
