BTIG expands global portfolio and ETF trading business with industry veterans


BTIG, a financial services firm specialising in institutional trading, investment banking, research and related brokerage services, has expanded its Global Portfolio and ETF Trading business with the addition of Evan Pfeuffer, MD, and David Lenahan, Director. 

Based in New York, Pfeuffer will specialize in developing quantitative strategies and technologies, while Lenahan will serve as Head of ETF Sales.

“Evan and David are both well respected and seasoned industry experts,” says Anton LeRoy, Chief Operating Officer at BTIG. “With their deep understanding of the global portfolio and ETF marketplace, we expect that clients will appreciate their insight and ability to design a diverse suite of innovative portfolio and ETF execution products.”

Pfeuffer has over 15 years of quantitative strategy and financial services experience that includes trading, research and development of trading systems. Prior to joining BTIG, he served as Director and Head of Electronic Market Making at Credit Suisse, where he was responsible for managing all aspects of the market-making business including trading, strategy, research and implementation. Earlier in his career at Credit Suisse, he was Head of Broker-Dealer Algorithmic Trading, responsible for the daily operations of the algorithmic trading desk including algorithmic design and routing decisions, and Head of Lead Market Maker ETFs, where he was responsible for the strategy and execution of ARCA and Nasdaq-listed ETFs. Previously, he held senior trading, strategy and development roles with UBS, Schwab Capital Markets and Deutsche Bank.

Lenahan has over 20 years of industry experience that includes institutional sales trading, product management and business development, most recently as a Managing Director of Global Portfolio and ETF Execution at Convergex, where he was responsible for ETF account development, new business and sales trading. Earlier in his career, he was a Managing Director within Global Equities and Program Trading at Bear Stearns, where he was responsible for client management and cultivating new business opportunities. Previously, he was the Director of Sales within the Investment Software Division of Thomson Financial Services.
