True Potential Investments has hired Chris Leyland (pictured) as Deputy Chief Investment Officer as the company continues to grow rapidly.

Leyland has over 13 years’ experience in the investment industry and his most recent role was as an Investment Manager at Tilneybestinvest. He was responsible for managing a large book of institutional and private clients utilising all asset classes and he was heavily involved in fund research.

Leyland says: “True Potential has shown incredible growth over the last three years and this will continue into the future with the investment business going from strength to strength. True Potential leads the way with both the technology it offers to advisers and the quality of its fund range. I look forward to working with the investment team and continuing to improve the investment offering.”

Chris’ appointment follows the recent launch of True Potential Investments’ first in-house managed Wealth Strategy Fund Range, offering even greater value for clients and another exclusive proposition for True Potential-powered advisers. Clients can choose from a series of fully diversified, risk-based investment solutions linked to their financial goals as well as their attitude to risk.

The Wealth Strategy Fund Range is backed by True Potential’s own Investment Committee, which maintains strong control and governance over sub-managers Close Brothers Asset Management, Schroders and SEI.

Leyland is the most recent of several notable appointments to True Potential’s investment team over the last 18 months.

Colin Beveridge joined True Potential Investments as Chief Investment Officer, bringing with him expert knowledge in finance and global equity income investing. Colin’s career includes time at The Alliance Trust PLC where he was Chief Investment Manager and at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership where he was an Investment Director.

Sheriden Davy was appointed Head of Risk and Compliance at True Potential Investments with extensive experience in compliance and pensions reform. He was employed by the Department for Work and Pensions, MyCSP Ltd, and BlackRock where he was vice president of compliance monitoring.

Emma Napier was recruited as True Potential’s Head of Distribution. She joined having worked in the IFA community for over 20 years, including as Head of Adviser Relations at The Platforum, Chief Operations Officer at The Regent Organisation and Operations Manager at city-based IFA Advisory & Brokerage Services Ltd.

Senior Partner at True Potential Investments, Mark Henderson, says: “Chris joins us at an exciting time and he will add further strength to a team that is structured for continued growth. At the core of our strategy is ensuring that we have the best people working with the most competitive products and providing investors with a combination of excellent funds and the ability to track progress towards their goals using our technology, including impulseSave.

“We look forward to working with Chris, whose knowledge will be crucial as we continue to expand to meet the demands of our partners, adviser firms and investors.”
