RELATED TOPICS

Emerald Asset Management’s Emerald Mutual Fund Advisers Trust subsidiary has completed the acquisition of the former Elessar Small-Cap Value Fund into the new Emerald Small-Cap Value Fund.

Emerald purchased the assets and hired the senior staff of Elessar Investment Management, LLC in February of this year. Following a shareholder vote, the Elessar Fund was acquired into the new Emerald Fund as of today. The Emerald Small-Cap Value Fund (NASDAQ: LSRIX) is managed by Rick Giesen and Ori Elan, who have managed the assets since the Elessar Fund’s inception in October, 2012. Giesen serves as Emerald’s Managing Director – Value Equity Strategies and Elan as Vice President – Portfolio Manager. The Fund is available in four share classes to individual and institutional investors.

“Ori and I look forward to bringing our combined thirty-eight years of investment industry experience to the Emerald Funds,” says Giesen.

“We welcome the Small-Cap Value Fund shareholders to the growing Emerald Mutual Funds family,” says Joseph E Besecker, chairman and CEO of Emerald Asset Management.

“Rick Giesen and Ori Elan share our passion for research-based small-cap portfolio management, bringing a compelling value-oriented strategy to our firm,” says Emerald Mutual Fund Advisers Trust chief investment officer Kenneth G Mertz II, CFA.

The Emerald Small-Cap Value Fund joins the Emerald Growth Fund, Emerald Banking & Finance Fund and Emerald Insights Fund. Emerald’s first fund – the Growth Fund – commenced operations in October, 1992. All of the Emerald Funds focus on inefficient markets where Emerald’s active management and fundamental research-based investment strategies can exploit under-recognised potential investment opportunities.
