Jesper Koll to run WisdomTree’s new Tokyo office

Exchange traded fund and product provider WisdomTree Investments is to open a new office in Tokyo which will be headed by Jesper Koll  as Chief Executive Officer of the firm's new subsidiary WisdomTree Japan KK.

WisdomTree Japan KK is currently applying for requisite regulatory business registrations and hopes to commence its business later this year.

WisdomTree dcurrenty has no plans to create any domestic ETFs in Japan, or to cross list any offshore ETFs or ETPs in Japan.

Prior to joining WisdomTree, Koll (pictured) was Chief Japan Equity Strategist and Managing Director of Japan Equity Research at JP Morgan in Japan. Previously, he held senior economist and strategist positions at Merrill Lynch and the Tiger Fund in Japan. He has held a seat on several Japanese government advisory committees and is one of the few non-Japanese members of the Keizai Doyukai, the Japan Association of Corporate Executives.
