Legal & General Investment Management America (LGIMA) has announced the management of the newly launched Legal & General Collective Investment Trust funds maintained by Reliance Trust Company of Delaware, which houses multiple domestic and global funds.

The funds launched on 30 June, 2015 with three index strategies and three additional index strategies are targeted for launch in early third quarter, that provide exposure to the key segments of the global equity opportunity set.

These funds have an emphasis on governance and transparency; areas that have received increased attention over the past few years from regulators, consultants, and the investing community. The funds are being launched with three independent providers to respond to industry concerns while providing investors the value that they deserve. Reliance Trust Company serves as trustee and is responsible for the establishment and on-going operation of the funds. LGIMA serves as the funds' investment manager and Citi serves as the custodian, accountant and securities lending agent for the funds.

Robert Moore (pictured), CEO of LGIMA, says: "LGIMA is able to leverage the strength, size and scale of our UK affiliate, which is one of the largest index managers in the world, as these CIT funds are launched. LGIMA is committed to delivering leading investment insights and solutions that help make everyday matter, and indexing is a key component of the solutions we offer clients and complements our active fixed income and LDI solutions. Over the past year we have brought together some of the best and brightest in the industry to help develop a US index fund business that provides the institutional pension market with a fresh alternative, diverse set of relevant solutions and level of service that is centred on transparency.”
