AssetAvenue names Peter Coleman as CFO

AssetAvenue, an online lender for real estate investment properties, has appointed Peter Coleman as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Coleman brings more than 20 years of financial management and investment banking experience focused on technology companies. At AssetAvenue, Coleman will be responsible for leading the company’s financial management and accounting functions and advising on corporate finance strategies to achieve the next phase of growth.

Most recently, Coleman has been CFO for several technology start-ups, including FuHu, the consumer electronics maker of the Nabi tablet, and LOYAL3 HOLDINGS, Inc, a financial technology company that leverages social technologies to democratise the capital markets. At LOYAL3, Coleman had direct responsibility for building the finance, accounting, HR, regulatory and general operations departments and played a key role in the company raising $60 million through a total of four primary rounds.

“Peter’s regulatory, compliance, accounting control and financial management experience combined with his investment banking background will be invaluable to us,” says David Manshoory (pictured), CEO and Co-founder of AssetAvenue. “He will be an essential member of our management team as we focus on growing the company and building out our suite of services that make it easier for borrowers to manage their loans, as well as having a best-in-class asset management and servicing platform for investors.”

Prior to LOYAL3, Coleman was Chief Financial Officer at Merriman Holdings, Inc. (OTCQX: MERR), from 2008 to 2012, where he executed the financial and operational turnaround of the publicly traded financial services firm. He also served concurrently as Chief Executive Officer of Merriman's primary subsidiary, Merriman Capital, Inc. From 2004 to 2008, Coleman was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of ThinkEquity Partners, LLC, an investment banking firm, where he also served as a member of the firm's Board of Directors and Global Management Committee. Earlier in his career, he was an equity research analyst covering the application software industry for Charles Schwab and Bank of America.

Coleman has a Business of Administration degree from the University of San Diego.

“I’m excited to join the AssetAvenue team,” says Coleman. “The company has quickly established itself as an innovator and leader within the fintech space and dedicated itself to rethinking the current lending model for the real estate industry. I look forward to contributing my expertise and skills to help the company achieve the next stage of growth.”
