Gale and Phillipson move full steam ahead with new growth

Independent financial planning and investment management firm Gale and Phillipson is implementing an expansion plan by widening the firm’s distribution channels in England.

The firm, which aims to accrue at least GBP1.5 billion funds under management within five years through acquisition and organic growth, has recruited Robin Joyner Associates as an Appointed Representative. This now expands the reach of the company in the South of England.

The appointment is the first since the merger between jonathanfry plc and Easby Gale & Phillipson, which led to the creation of Gale and Phillipson in February 2015, and is already exploring the next opportunities for new acquisitions.

Robin Joyner Associates now become Gale and Phillipson’s second Appointed Representative, joining Newton Aycliffe-based Gallagher Tarran.

With 43 years industry experience focused on retirement financial planning, Robin brings a wealth of knowledge from his office base in Surrey. Joyner (pictured) was previously with City Asset Management until the recruitment.

David Carr, Chief Executive, Gale and Phillipson, says adding Robin to the group as an Appointed Representative brings combined strength to the company in addition to the ability to reach clients in the South East, complementing Gale and Phillipson’s growth aspirations.

Carr says: “We’re delighted to add Robin Joyner as an Appointed Representative. His vast experience and skills are a good match for our unique service offering. Joining us will allow Robin to focus on what he does so well – managing client relationships.  He can do this confidently, knowing he is supported by a wider technical and regulatory support team.

Joyner says: “I’m very happy to be joining the Gale and Phillipson group. They are a professional, vibrant and growing company, with a clear focus on meeting client needs and reducing customer costs, which is good news for my clients.

“Personally, I am also pleased to regain my independent status. A great deal of consideration has gone into the decision, but I am very happy with the outcome and sure this will be a long and mutually beneficial union.”

Gale and Phillipson is an independent financial planning and investment management firm, offering services to UK personal, corporate and trustee clients. Their professional approach is designed to meet both simple and complex client needs and react to situations as they develop whilst creating and protecting client wealth.

Carr adds: “We have a long history of helping our clients create and protect their wealth, and we’re committed to finding innovative solutions to their financial planning needs.”

“The Gale and Phillipson story dates back to 1905, but our most exciting days are ahead of us. We’re keen to add suitable Appointed Representatives to the group, particularly those with significant experience in any of our key services.”
