Fairstone joins APFA

Fairstone Financial Management has joined the Association of Professional Advisers (APFA), the representative body for the financial adviser profession.

Fairstone Financial Management, part of the Fairstone Group, is a national firm of Independent Financial Advisers, headquartered in Newcastle, with offices across in London, Bristol and Belfast.
 
The firm, which has over 230 advisers, and recently became one of the largest chartered financial planning firms in the UK when it achieved Corporate Chartered status from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
 
Chris Hannant, Director General at APFA, says: “I’m delighted to welcome Fairstone to APFA. It is critical that the industry speaks with one voice when campaigning on important issues. Fairstone is an innovative, growing business which we believe will bring fresh insight and support to our efforts to secure a better deal for advisers.”
 
Lee Hartley (pictured), Chief Executive at Fairstone Group, says: “The financial advice industry needs a body to help shape the future of our profession, and we’re delighted to join APFA and lend our support in this objective.

In recognition of the firm’s reputation in the financial services sector, Fairstone was also invited to make a contribution to the profession through APFA’s Compliance Group.  
 
Ursula Sweis, Head of Group Compliance for Fairstone, has joined the group to discuss industry issues and policy stance with other member firms.
