Kames Capital strengthens equity investment team

Kames Capital has strengthened its Asian equity capabilities with the appointment of Euan Weir, who joins the firm as an investment manager with responsibility for Asian equities.

Reporting to Kames’ head of equities Stephen Adams, he will work across a number of funds within the Kames equity portfolio where he can apply his in-depth knowledge of Asian markets.
 
Weir has extensive sell side experience in Asian equities and joins Kames from HSBC where he was director, Asian Equities responsible for research and sales.
 
Prior to HSBC, Weir was head of Asian research marketing at Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong where his role included research, distribution, promotion and generation of ideas for clients investing in Asian equities.
 
Kames’ head of equities Stephen Adams says: ‘Euan has extensive experience and a proven track record for research, gained on the sell side for Asian equities. This knowledge and experience will further strengthen our expertise in this space and will be a hugely beneficial addition to our global equity capabilities.’
