Great Lakes Advisors, a specialist in socially responsible and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) integration investing, has appointed Daniel P Nielsen (pictured) as a Managing Director.

Nielsen comes to Great Lakes Advisors from Christian Brothers Investment Services (CBIS), where he led the Catholic Responsible Investing practice. In this role, he was responsible for managing portfolio screening, proxy voting, and corporate engagement strategies of the firm and for working with participants and prospects to evaluate strategies and performance.
Prior to CBIS, Nielsen was the Manager of Socially Responsible Investing at the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits of the United Methodist Church where he addressed environmental, governance, and human rights issues with portfolio companies. Nielsen holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a B.A. with honors from the University of Maryland.
