EQ appoints Sally Collins to establish simplified advice team

Boutique wealth manager EQ Investors (EQ) has appointed Sally Collins as ‘Head of Simply EQ’ to manage the firm’s simplified advice service. Collins will lead the advisers who underpin its new ‘Simply EQ’ proposition, launching at the end of October.

Simply EQ will deliver blended online and telephone based investment and pension advice. The new service will offer a wide choice of investment strategies and risk profiles at market leading rates.

Joining Collins in the ‘Simply EQ’ team as Investment Advisers are Freddie Cleworth, previously an Associate at Bestinvest, and Nicola Allen, promoted internally as the company builds towards the launch of its simplified advice service. The team will be supported by EQ’s ten-strong group of investment managers and research analysts.

John Spiers, Chief Executive at EQ, says: “With more than 15 years’ experience in financial services, Sally is ideally placed to help lead and mentor the Simply EQ adviser team.

“Our philosophy at EQ is about giving clients choices. The large majority of investors in the UK do not have a large enough portfolio to justify the fees inevitable with face-to-face advice.

“Simply EQ is intended to fill that gap, using the best features of technology to make our systems efficient whilst keeping the human interaction with Sally, Freddie and Nicola that most of us find essential when making financial decisions.”

Collins adds: “Having previously worked with John at Bestinvest, I’m looking forward to working with the team to ensure the success of this exciting new service.”
