RELATED TOPICS

Kames Capital has bolstered its fixed income investment capabilities with two new hires to its team.

Juan Valenzuela joins Kames as a fixed income manager while Timothée Pubellier joins as a trainee fixed income manager. Valenzuela and Pubellier’s appointments follow the recent addition of Grace Le to the fixed income team, also as a trainee fund manager.

Valenzuela joins Kames from Alliance Trust where he was an investment manager on the Alliance Trust Dynamic Bond Fund. Prior to Alliance Trust, Valenzuela was at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership where he was investment director on the SWIP Absolute Return Bond Fund. Juan will report into investment manager John McNeill who is responsible for the rates team at Kames.

Pubellier joins Kames from Paris based hedge fund UBP, where he was a portfolio manager with responsibility for risk, portfolio monitoring and FX hedging. He will report to Gregory Turnbull-Schwartz who leads Kames’ financials fixed income team.

David Roberts (pictured), head of fixed income at Kames, says: “The appointments of both Juan and Timothée, as well as the recent appointment of Grace, add strength and depth to our team, as we look to further develop our fixed income capabilities both in the UK and in continental Europe. Grace and Timothée have strong financial backgrounds and great development potential, whilst with Juan we have a well-established fixed income manager. In addition they all have excellent language skills which will be extremely useful as we further develop our fixed income franchise in Europe.”
