Brooks Macdonald FUM down 1.07 per cent in Q3


Wealth management group Brooks Macdonald saw discretionary funds under management decrease  1.07 per cent in Q3 to GBP7.33 billion (30 June 2015: GBP7.41 billion). By comparison the WMA balanced index decreased by 3.85 per cent over the same period.

This figure represents all of the discretionary funds across the Group – asset management, funds and international – and reflected a combination of investment performance of -GBP263 million and net new business GBP180 million over the quarter.
At the end of Q3, the Group’s property management business Braemar Estates had property assets under administration of GBP1.073 billion, (30 June 2015: GBP1.14 billion), while third party assets under administration now total in excess of GBP260 million (30 June 2015: >GBP255million).
Chris Macdonald (pictured), Chief Executive of Brooks Macdonald, says: “Investment markets have been weak in the first quarter which has an inevitable impact on funds under management and financial performance. However we are pleased that new business is robust and demand for our risk rated investment solutions from both professional intermediaries and private clients continue to gain traction.”
