Davy Asset Management makes key UK fund manager hire

Davy Asset Management, the international asset management arm of Davy Group, has appointed Jonty Starbuck, CFA formerly of T Rowe Price, as fund manager.

Following a series of similar senior-level appointments in the UK, including former Threadneedle Sales Director Doug Gordon, Davy Asset Management continues in its campaign to become a leading presence in the European funds industry.
 
Starbuck has 15 years of investment experience in the funds industry, including eight years covering European consumer companies at T Rowe Price. Prior to this Starbuck, worked as a generalist supporting a global portfolio and spent time as a sell-side telecom equipment analyst at Morgan Stanley.
 
As part of his role, Starbuck will be working on Davy’s ‘Global Brands’ strategy. According to FP Trustnet the fund is top quartile over one and three years.
 
Starbuck has an Honours BSc in Chemistry and a PhD in Structural & Theoretical Chemistry from Bristol University.
