Pzena Investment Management enters retail market with expanded leadership team

Pzena Investment Management has entered the retail market with an expanded leadership team and is now offering individual investors access to investment strategies that were previously only available to institutional clients.

With the launch of mutual funds they will continue their tradition of identifying undervalued companies through a disciplined, research-driven investment process. The retail funds launched include mid-cap value, long/short equity, and emerging markets value.
As part of this strategic expansion, Pzena hired Scott Napier as head of intermediary distribution. With more than two decades of retail asset-management experience, Napier is responsible for overseeing the growth of Pzena’s distribution capabilities outside of institutional investors and building the intermediary business across channels. Prior to joining Pzena, Napier held various leadership roles at OppenheimerFunds, Inc., including Divisional Director of the Southeast and National Sales Manager for the sub-advisory business.
Joining Napier will be Jonna Dondero as director of business development for intermediary distribution. With 20 years of asset-management industry experience, she is leading relationship management and new business development. Prior to joining Pzena, Dondero was senior director of retail business development at Touchstone Investments. She has also held senior relationship management roles at Invesco and Orinda Asset Management.
"This is an exciting time for Pzena as we leverage our 20 years of expertise in active management and classic value investing to enter new markets and reach new clients,” says Richard Pzena (pictured), founder and co-chief investment officer. “With the additions of Scott and Jonna, we now have the experience, talent and leadership in place to bring our disciplined strategies to the intermediary market.”
Pzena, based in New York, manages value equity portfolios for endowments, foundations, pension plans, and leading asset managers from around the world. The company adheres to a classic value approach to investing and applies a proprietary research process to stock selection.
