Northern Trust has appointed Henry P Johnson (pictured) as Executive Vice President and Vice Chairman of Wealth Management in the East Region, reporting to East Region President David Blowers.
Johnson will be based in Northern Trust’s New York City office and will lead the Northeast business, with John Hoffman, president of Greater New York, and Bill Buccella, president of New England, reporting to him.

Johnson previously served as chief executive officer for Fiduciary Trust Company International, where he held a variety of leadership roles since 1994 prior to being named CEO. Johnson is deeply engaged with arts, educational and cultural institutions in and around New York City, including Vassar College, New York Botanical Garden, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The New York Public Library, Garden Conservancy, the Josiah H. Macy, Jr. Foundation and Greenwood Gardens. He has prior professional experience at The Blackstone Group, Sotheby's, Inc. and Sullivan & Cromwell. He has an undergraduate degree from Vassar College and a Master’s degree from the Yale School of Management.
