Full-service independent financial advisory firms, Cornerstone Asset Management has made four key appointments in the firm’s Edinburgh office.
With a career spanning over 30 years, Alan Reid, joins Cornerstone’s senior management team with a focus on business development for both corporate and private clients. Aged 55, Reid has held key director positions in the financial services industry including CEHeath (Scotland), formerly Collins Halden (Scotland) Ltd and Balmoral Asset Management Ltd, where he played a major role in helping grow the business over the past decade.
Prior to Reid’s position at Balmoral, he was managing director of Heath Consulting (Scotland) Ltd where he was instrumental in the management buy-out of C.E Heath forming Opus Consulting as a standalone wealth management business. Reid will play a central role in developing strategic client relationships for Cornerstone.
Cornerstone has also created a new management position with the appointment of Suzanne Reid as Operations Director. Reid has over 20 years’ experience in the industry and joins the Firm from Turcan Connell Asset Management (Tcam), where she was responsible for a team of up to 20 staff and reported to the management team on all aspects of the operations function including change management and asset management administration. With a strong background in financial services and financial planning, Reid’s career has also included roles with Watson Wyatt Partners, Origen and Scottish Equitable.
Scott Snedden, aged 40, joins Cornerstone as a chartered financial planner from Balmoral Asset Management Ltd. With over 20 years’ financial services experience Snedden has also worked with AEGON Scottish Equitable as a senior business analyst in the pensions department. A fellow of the Personal Finance Society, Snedden is a specialist wealth management planner with particular expertise in corporate pensions and private clients. He was also an active member of the Junior Chamber International where he was awarded the Most Outstanding JCI Member in Scotland in 2010.
Cornerstone has also appointed Louise Melville as personal assistant to the management team. Louise has a long standing relationship with Alan Reid having worked with him for over 20 years and joins Cornerstone following a short sabbatical from the industry.
