Rowan Dartington boosts equity research team with multiple hires

UK-based discretionary fund manager Rowan Dartington has significantly strengthened its UK equity research team over the last 12 months with four new hires in a move to support the company’s growth following the recent St James’s Place acquisition.

Working under investment director Tim Cockerill, the team will be led by former Charterhouse Capital Partners’ private equity research manager Gary Sunderland, who holds the role of head of equity research. Gary, who also spent nine years at Goldman Sachs, manages the equity team, researching stocks across FTSE100, FTSE250, Small cap and AIM.
Other hires include Jeremy Browne, Clementine Dymond and Andrew Wace, who respectively joined from Fairfax plc, Whiteforrd Wealth Management and AXA Investment Managers all of whom will be based in London.
“We expect AUM to increase very significantly over the next few years and further strengthening our UK equity research capability is a crucial part of our strategic growth plan and commitment to remaining whole of market,” says Rowan Dartington’s executive chairman Graham Coxell (pictured). “Gary has a fantastic track record as an equity and private equity research analyst as well as a solid experience managing growing teams in his previous companies. He was therefore the perfect candidate for the role and has established himself extremely well already. We have supported Gary in building a really strong team around him and are looking forward to continuing to provide our clients and partners with great investment support, advice and returns.”
