St James’s Place Academy sponsors prizes for academic excellence in Accounting at the LSE

In a move to extend the activities and reach of its acclaimed and industry-leading training programme, the St. James's Place Academy has joined forces with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to launch the St James's Place Prize in Accounting.

The new SJP Academy Prize will be awarded to the two students on the LSE’s MSc Accounting, Organisations and Institutions programme who achieve the highest marks in their essays. The 6,000-word essays account for 50% of the mark of one of the compulsory courses on the MSc programme.

Students select their own topic and title, in consultation with their supervisor, and the deadline for submission is 4 May. The prize is being promoted to both current and prospective students, and the winning students will be selected in July, with their prizes being presented at an award reception being held at the London base of the St James’s Place Academy on 14 July.

Commenting on launch of the new Prize in Accounting, Professor Mike Power (pictured) from the LSE, says: ”We are very grateful to the St James’s Place Academy for sponsoring these prizes and for providing this recognition for the achievements of our best students.  We are looking forward to working with the Academy in the future and to strengthening the links that have now been established.”

Adrian Batchelor, Director of the St James’s Place Academy, adds: “Accountancy is a crucially important discipline within the financial services sector, so we are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with the London School of Economics, an internationally-recognised academic institution, and lend our support to its accountancy faculty through this new sponsorship. We look forward to further developing links between the LSE and St. James’s Place Academy in the future.”
