Amundi ETF captures more than 40 per cent of European ETF inflows on Emerging Markets exposures in March 2016

Amundi ETF has attracted record inflows on Emerging Markets equities in March 2016, with 560 million EUR net inflows, representing 40 per cent of the total European ETF market flows on Emerging equity exposures in the period.

Emerging equity markets have outperformed developed markets so far in 2016, driven recently by three powerful catalysts: the rebound in oil prices, the halt in the dollar’s rise, and the renewed lustre of the “undervalued stock” theme.

In this context, markets have witnessed a new shift to Emerging Markets since the beginning of the year, after several years of Emerging equities outflows despite good index performance.
March 2016 saw an upturn in the European trend with 1,42 billion EUR1 of inflows on emerging exposures, of which the Amundi ETF range has captured 40 per cent.

Passive solutions are more and more used by investors to reallocate to Emerging Markets via a representative benchmark, especially ETFs which offer good liquidity conditions, at a lower cost.
The global and regional Emerging Markets equity range of Amundi ETF covers global emerging region, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe ex Russia. It is offered with ongoing charges3 of only 0.20 per cent, which make it the most competitive on such exposures.

Fannie Wurtz, Managing Director at Amundi ETF, Indexing & Smart Beta, says: “We believe Emerging Markets are the challengers for the coming weeks, and investors are searching for the right tools to reconsider them. ETFs are definitively a cost-efficient solution, and our capacity to offer the cheapest Global and Regional Emerging Markets equity range with good liquidity is decisive to support clients in their shift back to emerging markets."
