Pitmans Trustees Limited (PTL), an independent trustee and governance services provider, has announced its successes and year-end figures for the 2016 financial year, revealing 30 new appointments and a 24 per cent growth in revenue growth.

In the past financial year, the organisation was appointed to a number of new independent governance committees (IGCs) bringing the total number of IGC appointments to seven. PTL also brought to market a governance advisory arrangement (GAA) which delivers cost-effective, robust governance to smaller providers of workplace pensions – with fees estimated to be less than 25 per cent of the cost of running an IGC. In one year alone, the PTL GAA has been selected by 14 workplace pension providers.

Richard Butcher, Managing Director at PTL, says: “This has been another highly successful year for PTL. With the unprecedented range of appointments, coupled with our experience of DC master trusts and our team-based ethos, we have been able to bring a genuinely consistent approach to governance across both contract and trust-based schemes. DB trusteeship remains a mainstay of our business, and two particular client wins in 2015 – one being the largest DB scheme to which we’ve ever been appointed – demonstrates our commitment to excellence in this area.

“We have maintained our investment in experienced and talented individuals, this year appointing one Client Director in the London office, and recruiting for a further two Client Directors in the Leeds and Birmingham offices. Two managers have also been recruited in the Leeds office to support the Client Director team and to play key roles in growing the group life business there.’’
