Carl to co-manage Sterling Capital Diversified Income Fund

Brandon Carl, CFA, a member of Sterling Capital Management’s Advisory Solutions Team, is to join Shane Burke as co-portfolio manager of the fimr’s Diversified Income Fund following Will Gholston's departure.

The Diversified Income Fund is a multi-asset class, income-oriented fund that draws on the resources and expertise of Sterling's Advisory Solutions Team. The fund seeks income and capital appreciation by investing in a broad range of income-generating asset classes and strategies, using active and passive management.

"Brandon is a highly experienced, thoughtful and talented investment professional who has served as a leading member of our Advisory Solutions team for many years. He has a strong record of successfully identifying and allocating to highly skilled managers with clearly differentiated approaches to investment research, risk management and portfolio construction. We believe Brandon's addition as co-portfolio manager will greatly benefit our Diversified Income Fund clients," says Advisory Solutions Managing Director James C. Willis, CFA.

Carl, who has 15 years of investment experience, has worked closely with Burke and Gholston since the launch of the Diversified Income Fund and has been an integral part of the Advisory Solutions Team since 2008. The seven-member team, led by Willis, has more than 12 decades of combined investment experience. The team is responsible for developing Sterling's globally invested asset allocation framework, maintaining a focused platform comprised of highly skilled managers, and constructing and managing comprehensive investment models that focus on asset allocation and manager selection independently.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to co-manage the Diversified Income Fund with Shane, who has been integral in formulating the fund's investment process and delivering outstanding results for investors,” says Carl. “The fund's risk-managed approach to asset allocation and security selection provides an excellent path to seeking income generation and capital appreciation, especially in an environment where interest rates around the globe remain near historical lows.”

In addition to his new role as portfolio manager, Carl will continue to serve as an Advisory Solutions investment analyst with a focus on developed markets equity.
