Mackenzie Investments launches two new global mutual funds

Mackenzie Financial Corporation (Mackenzie Investments) announced today it has launched two mutual funds that address the needs of investors for low volatility solutions, and global diversification.

"Investors want to manage volatility while achieving long-term capital growth. These funds provide opportunities in overseas markets while also aiming to give investors a smoother equity experience," says Michael Schnitman, Senior Vice President of Product for Mackenzie Investments.

The Mackenzie Ivy International Equity Fund employs the proven Ivy investment style. The Fund pursues long-term capital growth, investing in high-quality companies that are expected to grow at above average rates, consistent with the protection of capital. Ivy defines a high-quality company as one that exhibits a strong return on invested capital, maintains a strong balance sheet, generates significant amounts of free cash flow, and is supported by a corporate culture that focuses on maintaining a competitive edge. The securities in Mackenzie Ivy International Equity Fund are primarily equities of companies located in three principal market regions outside of North America: the UK and Europe; Asia and the Far East; and Australia and New Zealand.

The Mackenzie Global Low Volatility Fund is designed for investors who are seeking a global equity portfolio with lower volatility than a traditional equity portfolio and is managed by Irish Life Investment Managers, a global industry leader with proven competency in quantitative research and strategy development over 15 years. The Fund is designed to help investors navigate volatile markets while maintaining global equity returns over the longer term. The Fund approaches risk in a unique manner that employs an active quantitative strategy to manage market risk and protect against volatile market swings. It can be used as a core equity holding or a low-risk component of an equity portfolio.
