US ETF assets hit new record


ETF data provider ETFGI reports that assets invested in ETFs/ETPs listed in the United States reached a new record high USD2.256 trillion at the end of June 2016. 

At the end of June 2016, the US ETF/ETP industry had 1,931 ETFs/ETPs, assets of US$2.256 trillion, from 97 providers listed on three exchanges.
In June 2016, ETFs/ETPs listed in the US gathered net inflows of USD17.72 billion. Fixed income ETFs/ETPs gathered the largest net inflows with USD7.48 billion, followed by commodity ETFs/ETPs with USD5.43 billion, and equity ETFs/ETPs with USD5.03 billion.  ETF/ETP average daily trading volumes increased by 24.2 per cent from USD68.90 billion in May 2016 to USD85.61 billion in June 2016.
